Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Crispy Prosciutto

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4-5 fresh sage leaves
  • 2 slices prosciutto, torn into pieces (optional)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven

    • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Make Brown Butter with Sage

    • In a small bowl, add the sage leaves, butter and melt the butter in a microwave. Drizzle the melted butter and sage over the Brussels sprouts in a bowl.

  3. Add Maple and Season

    • Add the maple syrup, a pinch of salt, and pepper to the Brussels sprouts. Toss to coat well.

  4. Roast the Brussels Sprouts

    • Spread the Brussels sprouts on the prepared baking sheet in an even layer cut side down. Scatter the torn prosciutto pieces on top. Roast for 15-20 minutes, until the Brussels sprouts are crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the prosciutto and sage are crispy.

  5. Serve

    • Serve warm, optionally garnished with extra crispy sage leaves or a squeeze of lemon for brightness.
